Intermediate TREKKING ADVENTURE

June 20-26 & July 24-30, 2018
(12-15 miles/day, 4-5 hours in the saddle)
This trek is quite similar to the Ultimate Trekking Adventure, with a few exceptions. The difference is that we’ll cover flatter, more forgiving terrain that’s closer to civilization and requires less off-roading. We’ll wake up in the mornings and pack a lunch because we’ll be gone all day, this time riding from farm to farm, over river banks and on beautiful beaches. This trek is challenging, but at the same time, we make sure that you’re comfortable. We like to call this a “soft trek.” For example, you’ll have the option of catching a ride with the bus for a leg of the trek if you need a break, coffee or just would like some time to enjoy the views.

The Ultimate TREKKING ADVENTURE

August 16-22nd, 2018
(15-20 miles/day, 5-7 hours in the saddle)
This tour is ideal for those looking for the ultimate adventure and those who want to get away from it all. Riding begins with 1.5 days of getting to know your trekking horses inside the enclosed arena. Disconnect and enjoy pure Icelandic nature and highlands with a loose herd, riding to breathtaking scenery that’s only accessible via horseback. After packing a lunch each morning, we’ll head out on our trek and not return until dinner time. At the end of each day, we’ll leave our horses and return to the guesthouse by bus. The next morning, we’ll wake up, drive to where we left off the day before and continue onward. We’ll return to Staðarhus by horseback the last evening of the tour. You’ll be challenged, and your adrenaline will be pumping. But you can rest assured that you’re in good hands.
