Our fall trip is from September 7-15th and will be located in the southern
region of Iceland. All meals, accomodations, and ground transportation is provided. Our van will pick you up at the Keflavik airport, or we can make arrangements to pick you up in Reykjavík.
September 8-10
The first part of our trip takes place at Hestheimar, known for it's excellent accomodations and Icelandic home cooking. Double rooms with private bathrooms. Daily clinic with Gudmar Petursson for intermediate to advanced riders. Format provides for both individual attention and group activities on horseback. Horses are individually matched to riders and will be utilized on the round-up.
September 11-15
We then join the farmers in South Iceland when they gather thousands of sheep from the mountains and experience Icelandic horses at their best, sure-footed and eager to fulfil the task set for them every autumn. The sheep round-up tour intertwines tradition, nature, and history leaving nobody untouched by the Icelandic spirit of togetherness. After each day in the saddle we can relax in a comfortable outdoor hot tub.
Riding for 4 days for 5-7 hours per day. Comfortable shared accommodations with made up beds. This trek is for intermediate to advanced riders. Riders coming on the trek, must be comfortable in Tolt, Trot, over varying terrain and some Canter.
