Our trip is from July 2 - 9th and will be located in the southern
Biskupstungur region of Iceland. All meals, accomodations, and ground transportation is provided. Lodging for both the clinic and trek are at the same location. Our van will pick you up at the Keflavik airport, or we can make arrangements to pick you up in Reykjavík.
July 2 - 4th
Daily clinic with Gudmar Petursson for intermediate to advanced riders. Format provides for both individual attention and group activities on horseback. Horses are individually matched to riders and will be utilized on the trek.
July 5 - 9th
This special trek has been customized to cater to the needs of our clients. The district of Biskupstungur is well known by Iceland enthusiasts because two of the best known sights, the Geysir hot spring area and Gullfoss waterfall. On this trek we stay off the beaten path and explore the lovely countryside and high reaching mountains framing this area. A visit to Fontana Spa is planned for the group after our long second day ride.
For two days we explore the lush green valleys and then we head for the mountains, crossing brooks, barren valleys and sand on our way to Hlöðufell Mountain. Our last riding day leads us through the forested area of Haukadalsskógur.
Riding for 4 days for 5-7 hours per day. Comfortable shared accommodations with made up beds. This trek is for intermediate to advanced riders. Riders coming on the trek, must be comfortable in Tolt, Trot, over varying terrain and some Canter.

In 2012 the Landsmot Horse Festival will be taking place in Reykjavik from June 25th - July 1st. Our trip will be starting immediately after Landsmot. We can help you with your accomodations if you are planning to attend the festival, otherwise we will not be including Landsmot in our 2012 trip. Please be aware that accomodations in Reykjavik will fill up quickly so start your planning now.
