| The Vacation of a Lifetime America 2 Iceland is offering three trips in one where you can create a custom trip. We recommend choosing no less than 2 options to get the best experience. The highlight of the trip this year will be Landsmót 2008. Landsmót is "the" Icelandic horse festival and it only takes place every other year. It’s a huge event with the best of the best in horses and horsemanship on display. Any fan of Icelandic horses will enjoy watching and participating. OPTION 1 July 3rd - 6th Landsmót Horse Festival Arriving Iceland on the 3rd, attend festival 4-6th. Accommodations in Hella, just minutes from Landsmot. In a beautiful setting surrounded by horses, and views of Mt. Hekla. We’ve worked hard to come up with a variety of accommodation options to meet varying budgets. OPTION 2 July 7 - 9th Riding Clinic Accommodations continue in Hella. Daily clinic with Gudmar Petursson for riders of all levels. Format provides for both individual attention and group activities on horseback. Clinic conducted inside an indoor arena with oval track access. Horses are individually matched to riders and will be utilized on the trek for participants electing that option. This is a similar format to our popular Educate & Rejuvenate trips. OPTION 3 July 10 - 13th Custom Trek A unique feature of this custom trek is the ability for participants to ride the same horses that they used in the clinic. This custom trek is through the beautiful Snaefellsnes peninsula, including both mountain and beach riding. Returning daily to the same farm with fresh hot meals and the hot tub waiting. Riding for 3 days for 5-7 hours per day. Spend your final night in Reykjavik and visit the Blue Lagoon on the day of departure. Riders coming on the trek, must be comfortable in Tolt, Trot, over varying terrain and some Canter. THIS TRIP IS NOW FULL, EXCEPT FOR OPTION 3.
